Fakher Baklouti
Mini Olive Wood Bowl
Tunisia's olive oil industry dates to Roman times, and today artisan Fakher Baklouti gives olive trees a second life as beautiful objects for the home. In his atelier in the Mediterranean city of Sfax, he transforms rough olive wood logs into graceful pieces like this petite bowl, highlighting the wood's warm caramel tones and striking natural grain.
Perfect for olives, nuts, dates, spices, or small snacks, each bowl is carved from a single piece of olive wood, making every piece entirely unique.

Third-generation artisan Fakher Baklouti inherited his craft from his father, who learned it from his father. The family business? Wood working, transforming Tunisian olive trees into rich amber bowls and platters that almost seem to glow. “It is our family heritage,” Baklouti says of his profession. “This is not simply a work that I am practicing with my hands. It’s a passion, a love story!”
