In his atelier in the Mediterranean city of Sfax, he transforms rough olive wood logs into graceful pieces like this petite serving board, highlighting the wood's distinctive caramel tones and dramatic natural grain.

Easy returns
Care: Wash with a sponge and dish soap, and dry with a cloth or paper towel immediately. Do not wash in the dishwasher or leave soaking in water. If the wood begins to dry out, use a cloth and wipe with resin-free peanut or canola oil.
Third-generation artisan Fakher Baklouti inherited his craft from his father, who learned it from his father. The family business? Wood working, transforming Tunisian olive trees into rich amber bowls and platters that almost seem to glow. “It is our family heritage,” Baklouti says of his profession. “This is not simply a work that I am practicing with my hands. It’s a passion, a love story!”
