TINJA
Checkerboard Terracotta Vessel
The Checkerboard Terracotta Vessel by Tinja reimagines the ancient ceramic traditions of northern Tunisia through a bold contemporary lens. Handcrafted by women artisans in Sejnane, where pottery-making skills have been passed from mother to daughter for generations and were recognized by UNESCO in 2018, each piece is shaped and painted entirely by hand.
The vessel's graphic checkerboard pattern and sculptural silhouette bring a striking presence to shelves, consoles, and mantels. Whether displayed on its own or filled with dried branches and blooms, it functions as both a decorative object and a celebration of living craft traditions.
Designed by the Tunisian duo Yasmine and Mehdi of Tinja, each vessel is one of a kind.
N.B. Not intended for use with water.
