Black Terracotta Decorative Bowl
This black terracotta bowl from the Sejnane region of Tunisia is shaped by hand using traditional pottery techniques. Its matte surface gives the clay a more graphic, sculptural presence, while two rows of hand-applied dots introduce rhythm and texture.
Slightly larger in scale than the natural bowl, it works beautifully as a centerpiece or layered into a tabletop arrangement, adding depth and contrast to a space.
Each piece is unique, with subtle variations that reflect its handmade process and origin.

Sejnania was founded in 2012 in the wake of the Tunisian Revolution as an economic interest group for women potters in the Sejnane region of Tunisia. Zeineb Farhat, Project Manager of Sejnania, has developed skills training, marketing, product promotion, and advocacy, building the group from 35 to 100 participating women, ensuring a steady income for their families, and preserving Tunisia’s heritage. The craft of Sejnane pottery has been passed down from each generation of women for over 3,000 years.
