Anissa Aida reimagines the classic black wool coat with sculptural tulip sleeves, origami-inspired diamond folds, and a belted closure. The geometric fabric manipulations reference Jneh Khotifa, an iconic motif found in traditional Tunisian ceramic floor tiles.
A center seam defines the back, while a full lining gives the coat a polished finish. Striking in its construction yet timeless in black, the coat reflects Anissa Aida’s distinctive approach to translating Tunisian design references into contemporary form.

Easy returns
Raised in Paris and Tunisia, designer Anissa Meddeb creates clothing and accessories inspired by Tunisia’s heritage. She explores traditional garments worn in North Africa and the Levant, and looks further to sartorial traditions of China, Japan and Korea. Launching her debut collection in 2016, Meddeb’s looks invoke classic Arab silhouettes with an architectural edge. In 2018, Anissa was selected for the Design Entrepreneur Program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and won the Open My Med Prize of Maison Mode Méditerranée in Marseille, France.
