This linen shirt by Anissa Aida draws on Japanese textile traditions through its patchwork construction and indigo-inspired palette. Navy-and-white checked linen is pieced with contrasting panels, bringing pattern and dimension to the relaxed silhouette.

Raised in Paris and Tunisia, designer Anissa Meddeb creates clothing and accessories inspired by the intersection of North African culture and Japanese aesthetics. The Parsons School of Design graduate interned for Marc Jacobs Accessories and avant-garde fashion collective ThreeAsFour before launching her own label in 2016. Designed in New York and produced in Tunisia, Meddeb’s looks invoke classic Arab silhouettes with an architectural edge. Dubbed “one to watch” by Fashion Scout London, she has shown at fashion weeks in Paris, London and Berlin, and was recently selected as a FIT Design Entrepreneur at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
