Fish Terracotta Box in Ochre
Inspired by Tunisia's rich maritime heritage, this whimsical terracotta box is topped with a hand-sculpted fish. Designed by Tinja and handmade by women potters in northern Tunisia, it reimagines the ancient ceramic traditions of Sejnane through a contemporary lens. The pottery skills of the women of Sejnane were recognized by UNESCO in 2018 for their cultural significance and transmission across generations.
Both sculptural and functional, the box can be displayed on a console, bookshelf, coffee table, or sideboard, where it serves as a decorative vessel for keepsakes and everyday objects. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand, making every box one of a kind.
