Cotton Shirt in White with Embroidery
This white cotton shirt by Anissa Aida pairs a relaxed silhouette with embroidery drawn from Tunisia's textile traditions. Details inspired by the baklava (cake) and houta (fish) motifs appear at the collar and sides, complemented by contrasting striped cotton panels at the sides and three-quarter sleeves.
The embroidery is part of Anissa Aida's Trizashiko collection, inspired by two albums of embroidery and sewing samples made by designer Anissa Meddeb's grandmother, Zohra Bouden Meddeb, during her professional training in Tunisia in 1950. The collection revives these traditional Tunisian motifs while bringing traditional Tunisian triza embroidery into dialogue with Japanese sashiko stitching.
A concealed button placket, curved hem, and relaxed cut give the shirt a clean contemporary silhouette. Designed and made in Tunisia.

Easy returns
Raised in Paris and Tunisia, emerging designer Anissa Meddeb creates clothing and accessories inspired by the intersection of North African culture and Eastern aesthetics. The Parsons School of Design graduate interned for Marc Jacobs Accessories and avant-garde fashion collective ThreeAsFour before launching her debut collection in 2016. Designed in New York and produced in Tunisia, Meddeb’s looks invoke classic Arab silhouettes with an architectural edge. Dubbed “one to watch” by Fashion Scout London, her most recent collection was presented at fashion weeks in Paris, London and Berlin. In 2018, Anissa was selected for the Design Entrepreneur Program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and won the Open My Med Prize of Maison Mode Méditerranée in Marseille, France.
