Handwoven Halfa Grass Platter – 6″
Halfa, also known as esparto, is a hardy grass that grows throughout Tunisia and has long been used for basketry and woven objects. In Kasserine, in western Tunisia, craftswomen use traditional techniques to transform the dried fibers into these compact, versatile platters.
Woven entirely by hand from natural halfa grass, each platter has subtle variations in shape, texture, and color that reflect the handmade process. Use it for a coaster, organizing everyday objects, or simply as a decorative piece.
